When you are planning out your game day appetizer layout, you always want something cool, something unique, for that centerpiece that everyone will see. Instead of the same old paper cut outs you buy at the store, why not do up a cool pepperoni football that will get noticed – and eaten? Here is our recipe for the Game Day Pepperoni Football that you can enjoy with our Original or Salt & Pepper Chick N' Skins.
2 8 oz packages of cream cheese – at room temperature
2 cups shredded mozzarella
1 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
1 tbsp chopped parsley
2 ½ tbsp minced garlic OR 2 cloves garlic minced
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
2 cups mini pepperoni
1 slice mozzarella – cut into thin strips
Original Chick N' Skins or Salt & Pepper Chick N' Skins for dipping/serving
Cookware You'll Need
Large mixing bowl
In large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mozzarella, parmesan, garlic, parsley, red pepper, salt and pepper (salt and pepper to your taste). Stir together until everything is combined well and sticks together. Put mix onto platter and form into football shape. Smooth the top and sides then cover with a layer of mini pepperonis. Use thin strips of mozzarella slice for 'laces' on the top of the football.
Serve with Chick N' Skins!
